Rerelease: Descent (Son of a Mermaid Book One), by Katie O’Sullivan

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000032_00038]I’ve got some great news to announce regarding recently spotlighted author Katie O’Sullivan. The relaunch of the first book in her Son of a Mermaid series is only a few days away! Descent will be rereleased on JULY 16! I’m a fellow mermaid author, so I checked out her book to review it, and let me say again that if you want to read a fun YA mermaid story, this one is up there.

You can view my original review HERE, and you can view the full spotlight of Katie HERE.

Or you can read the book summary right now:

Shea MacNamara’s life just got complicated. When a freak tornado devastates his Oklahoma farm, fifteen-year-old Shea moves to Cape Cod to live with a grandmother he’s never met. Struggling to make sense of his new surroundings, he meets a girl along the shore who changes his life. Forever.

Kae belongs to an undersea world hidden from humans, where bloody war rages between opposing clans. A fragile peace hinges on marriage between the royal families but treachery and magick lurk in every shadow. With Kae’s help, Shea discovers his true heritage and finds that his destiny lies somewhere far below the ocean’s surface.

You can preorder a copy for your Kindle at Amazon HERE.

But wait! There’s more good news about Descent and Katie! You can enter to win one of five signed copies of the book! There’s a Goodreads giveaway running through July 29—enter by clicking HERE.

The book also includes the first chapter of Defiance, the second book in the series, which will be relaunched in December 2015. I’ve already read the second book, but I’m holding off on posting the details of my FIVE-STAR review until the rerelease. Yeah, I loved it, maybe even a little more than I loved the first. And there are narwhals in it!

The third book in the series is hopefully slated for release in summer 2016. That one will be brand new, and I can’t wait to add it to my to-read list.

Now for even more great news! Katie and nine other YA authors are participating in two events on Cape Cod on release day—first at the Bourne Library and then at the Marstons Mills Library:

If you happen to be in the area—and why not? It’s summer and the beaches on the Cape are beautiful—then drop on by and say hello to Katie.
